BTW you only wasted $1. LOL! It's not that big of a deal. If she really wants an autograph and you wanna see her happy, buy her one.
Don't be a jerk. It's not about the money. But, imagine if "millions of fans" described throughout this string of posts are sending self-addressed, stamped envelopes that they aren't using to return things to the fans? That's a lot of postage that Hollywood Records gets and can reuse since it hasn't been through the mail.

You must not have children. Because if you did, you would understand that children get their hopes up and get their feelings hurt. As a parent, you want to do what you can to defend their feelings and make it right. That was the REAL point of my post.

Um why would you feel entitled to something. Clearly you don't understand fan mail
Um clearly, I don't. That would be because I have better things to do than track down celebrities all day. I also have better things to do than to be nasty to people I don't even know. Then again, it's easy to hide behind anonymity. Have a wonderful day!

Are you serious with your post? If you did ANY kind of research at all before you wrote a letter you would have known that A) Selena doesn't sign autographs, she sends out pre-prints B) You could have just emailed selenagomez@studiofanmail.com to get one the photos that you'll end up getting in the mail & C) If you or your daughter do not have the patience for this hobby then you shouldn't be doing it. Celebrities owe you nothing. You sound like an incredibly large BRAT and if your daughter is anything like you I feel sorry for her.
Yes, I was serious with my post. Have a wonderful holiday season because you are clearly one of the great humanitarians of our time. In fact, I bet you're in the running for a Nobel Peace Prize. Since it sounds like you're 12 from your reply, why don't you "do some research" on what a Nobel Peace Prize is AND how to treat people with respect. There's really no need for you to be nasty to me. If you didn't like my post, then you could've just ignored it. But, it sounds like you get your jollies from being cruel to complete strangers on a message board. Very mature! Grow up!

Nobel Peace Prize, I know what it is and I'm not 12. If I was 12 I would have been right behind you because like OMFG I wrote Selena and never got a response and like OMFGGGGGG I wasted $1!

There is really no need to be nasty about a BUSY celebrity not returning your daughters heartfelt letter, either. But you were. Do you realize how many of us have sent off requests and NEVER get a reply... It's the hobby and we deal with it. THAT's what pissed me off about your post. WHAAAA WHAAA is all I read. I've probably lost hundreds of dollars in postage with getting no replies.. But that's the chance you take. You don't see me on here crying about it. You either need to DEAL WITH IT or find your daughter a different hobby. Pretty simple. I'm not being cruel, I'm being honest. Truth sometimes hurts.

I remember I sent my first ever fanmail to Selena years & years ago. She switched addresses so I never got a response, but I didn't know that at the time & was very upset and angry.

Now after getting some experience, I think I can definitely give some insight to the OP. I see where you're coming from; you work all day and bother to spend some time writing to someone (or your child does) and in an ideal world you should be entitled to a response, even if it is a kind rejection letter.

But lets be real; sometimes theres just too much mail for even a company to reply, even with fake pre prints.

As a child, I'm sure they are taking this much harder than any other age group, but don't let them think Selena didn't want to sign something for them.

Furthermore, don't buy a fake autograph for them, they'll figure it out eventually.

Tell them the truth, or just don't bring it up at all, kids are quick to move on given distractions {up}

Also don't take it personally, chances are if any human being other than the post man saw your letter it was just as he was handing in a stack of them which hollywoodrecords might have thrown out. No one read the letter and then threw it away.

Don't expect them to be so logical, if they're a beginner to fanmail they will take it personally, because no one is used to rejection. After a while they will get to your viewpoint, if you allow them the chance to see it in a different way. 8)

That's true. I'd trade her what I've lost for postage versus what she's lost though. After that I don't think she'd complain. Ha.

I get what you are saying. However nothing is guaranteed with this hobby. And I made valid points in my post. If you want to get a signed photo from someone who no longer signs, you have to buy one and that was the REAL point of my post.

BTW please don't call me a jerk and then try and follow through with my option to give you a free PP. Just saying. LOL!! Message me when you get the chance.
