I'm probably asking a very stupid question, but I have to...

I'm from Belgium, and I suppose there aren't many people who are from Belgium here. So here's my question: what do I have to do if I want to receive an autograph of an American or British star??
i know i have to send a picture, but I don't know how it works with the stamps...

It's maybe a rediculous question for u, but it means a lot to me, thanks.

Hey there! Welcome to the forum! What you would do is send a big envelope with a letter and a photo to sign to the celebrity. But also you should include a SASE which is a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope. But if you do not have American or British stamps, you need to go to the Post Office and purchase some IRC's. International Reply Coupons are like vouchers for stamps in any countries. If you send an 8X10 photo you will probably need about 3 IRC's. So basically you will put Belgium Stamps on the big envelope containing the photo, letter, SASE, and IRC's and send that off. If you can not get hold of IRC's or Foreign Stamps, just send a Self Addressed Envelope as some celebrities are willing to pay for stamps. However courtesy-wise it is best to include at least a Self Addressed Envelope. I hope that I have not confused you!

Ok now this is new for me :-p U helped me a lot, so... is it good if I :

I take an envelope, put in a picture and a letter and 3 IRC's.

I write the address of the celebon the backside of the envelope and mine in front

I put enough (Belgian) stamps on the envelope to send it to America, and that's it?

If I do it like that the SASE isn't needed?

You address the envelope that you are sending everything in regularly as if you are sending it to a friend or family member. The celebrity's address in the center of the envelope and your address in the upper left handed corner with the stamps in the upper right handed corner. Since you are sending IRC's, include another envelope preferably folded up in the envelope that you are sending everything in. That folded up envelope should be addressed to yourself and it helps the celebrity a lot in terms of easiness to sign your photo and return it to you. Hopefully the diagram at this link will make things more clear.
