Need help with addressing envelope

Unread post by Tomatketchup »

Hi ^^

I will send a fan mail through an actor's agent and I wonder how I should type that on the envelope.
The actor's agent name is Christopher Highland and he works at United Talent Agency... So is this the correct way to address the envelope?

Christopher Highland
United Talent Agency
888 Seventh Avenue
New, NY 10106
USA

The actor I'm sending the letter to is Victor Garber. Should I use "ATTN: Victor Garber" underneath the agent's name or perhaps the other way around - ATTN: Christopher Highland? o.O

Thanks to anyone who can help me :D {??}

If it was me I would write:

Victor Garber,
c/o Christopher Highland,
United Talent Agency
888 Seventh Avenue
New, NY 10106
USA

Hope that helps :)

"Attention" (Attn.) is used when you want the letter to be delivered to that person.

For example:

Smith Co.
Attn.: John Smith
Smith St. 45
New York, NY 00000
USA

"In care of" (c/o) is used when your letter is for someone that works or lives in the same place of other person, and you would be asking that person to deliver it to the desired one.

John Smith
c/o Joe Smith
Smith Co.
Smith St. 45
New York, NY 00000
USA

In this case, Joe Smith would receive the letter but it is to be forwarded to John Smith.

That's what I understand!

Yes, that is correct. c/o is used when a person doesn't live on the address permanently, it could be that you are sending the letter to a person who lives at a friends house. Good information indeed. ;-)

It could also be used like this:
Care of. An abbreviation that is used to direct correspondence to a particular place. It is typically used for an addressee who is not at the usual place where he or she would receive correspondence.
For example, a letter could be sent to "ABC Company, c/o John Smith", or "XYZ Company, c/o Human Resources department".

Here is an example of using "attn":
ATTN JOE SMITH
ABC COMPANY INC.
123 MAIN STREET STE 789
SMALL TOWN, DC 00000-0000
