What a disgusting thing to say mailmanfan. {down} I find it sad that something made you say that hateful and worthless comment about a man who has just unexpectedly passed on.

In August of last year he sent me a very kind response thanking me for sending him a home made Harry Potter birthday card, and while it was nice of me to do so, he said its hard to get excited about the passage of time.

If you got ahold of him the right way he was a truly kind man. I corresponded with him a couple times and I never got an "angry" reply.

Just notes from a seemingly depressed man who probably didnt know just hoe talented he was.

R.I.P. Richard. He will be loved and missed for years to come. {down}

It's all about respect. Even if someone insults you, respect them their opinion. You may not agree with it, and can voice disaproval, but be tactful. I never wrote overseas, or I would have written him. I didn't like him because of Harry Potter either, even though he was brilliant in it. While it is sad he passed away, he was no Virgil Trucks. That man was a class act and loved hearing from his fans so much. luckyas13canbe, cling on to life as tight as you can. Bad karma can get you. The world lost an artist of renown, and weeps for it. Who cares if he voiced a few negative words? Better than throwing the letters away. Who deserves to die, especially young? Charles Manson? What did Freddie Mercury do to die young (besides bugger the wrong person)? How about the crackhead who stabs a single mother for dope money. People need to start thinking before they leave something nasty like this crap of dying young. Shame.

RIP Richard such a Shock

Mailmanfan no one deserves to die young he is someones dad, brother, son, uncle ect how would you feel if it was your dad, brother, uncle or son and someone said that about them?

I wrote to Richard in July Last year and he replyed within 2 weeks Signed and dedicated!
Yes even though he did reply angrily he still took the time to reply he didnt just trash it or fob you off with a PP or AP as even though he sent rude replys he still hand wrote every one!

RIP Richard Griffiths

i will agree that noone should die as young as he did, but Mailmanfan why do you have to spit on a mans grave. i never got a chance to write to him or get his autograph. if someone passes away at least give them enough respect to not give such a harsh remark. i do say RIP to him. he did a heck of a job on acting in the harry potter movies. from what i have read on this feed he basically loved to stay in character to some people. for those who did get his signature be proud of it, and let us show our condolences to his family and friends who are left behind. {up}
