Is there anybody from this group who would be able to help me out with what autographs are authentic or fake. I bought a bunch on ebay in the last few months but I now know that was a stupid idea. Some I can tell are legit from writing to the wrestler in the mail or meeting in person.

But I want your opinion. Note: Photos may look a little blurry since I'm taking the picture with my webcam.

If you would rather meet me on skype and I show the photos that is fine with me.

These are just a few. There are about 40 photos I want to check on.

Since updated: I posted them onto photo bucket. If anyone can tell me what seems real or fake that would be very much appreciated.

The Paul Orndorff should be legit. The seller is a convention promoter and Orndorff has been at conventions that he has run or worked at. I trust this seller.

The Sunny item should be good. I have purchased from this seller before. I don't know him personally though.

I'm not sure on the Owen item. I've never heard of or purchased from that seller.

I read your subsequent post as well. When I started collecting, I made some purchases on ebay that I came to regret and am still trying -- in some cases -- to get refunds on. It can be a real headache once you're past the ebay / paypal buyer protection period. So definitely do your research (I did, but clearly didn't do enough early on). Since those initial purchases, I run signed items by collectors who know more than I do if it's coming from a seller I haven't dealt with before.

There are some bad sellers on ebay and some great ones. One real problem is that sometimes the good sellers / dealers sell items that they've picked up from another dealer and resell them without realizing that they're selling an item that has a fake autograph. There's one seller who's a great guy and I trust him, but he listed a signed Mick Foley photo that is so fake that you don't need to be a handwriting expert to know it's no good.

"authentic mantle autographs" is a legit seller. Many of the items come from signings where he has brought in the talent as a vendor or has gotten them signed by other vendor guests at conventions where he's worked. I haven't looked through all of his items, but if you have questions on any in particular, I can tell you what I know.

I've never heard of the other seller.

As far as the photobucket gallery, like you said, the images aren't too clear so it's hard to judge. If you post a list of the items and the sellers they came from -- and possibly links to the closed ebay auctions -- I can try to help you out. Was the Elizabeth one signed "Liz?" It looked like it might have been from the photo.
