Who is this soccer player?

Has anyone any idea who this soccer player is? About three or four months ago I wrote to several Irish Internationals who are playing in the English Premier League. Now I got this signed photo but I can't find any name in my list that would match this signature, therefore, I need your help. :) As mentioned, it probably is an (a former) Irish International, although it seems he is wearing a Real Madrid trikot in this photo. ;-)

Indeed, it is Michael Owen!!! Thanks, René! :D I knew I know this signature... However, he does look so different, or is it just me who feels that way?
