Please keep us in your prayers...
Today I received a phone call from my midwive's office saying that they suspect that I may have hyperthyroidism (over-active thyroid). I do not have a single one of the symptoms, which almost scares me even more. I'm going in for another evaluation on May 25th (my 28th birthday). We're definitely hoping for the best and basically the only downside would be that I would have to have my levels evaluated a lot and I would be put on a medicine to chill my thyroid out. However I have found that stress and pregnancy does effect those tests, so I tend not to put much faith in the whole process. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated and please, please pray for us and the safety of the baby.

Hi elmomommyto1
Not that it will be much comfort to you at the moment, but it may take a little bit of worry away, the same thing happened to my wife when our daughter was born. For a few months after the birth her thyroid levels went both over and under, but she wasnt given tablets, she was just closely monitored. The levels went back to normal by themselves
So try not to worry too much (hard I know) but im sure it will be ok
You will be in my thoughts though (All the way over here in the UK)
Take care
David

Thank you so much to all of you for your kind words and thoughts. I'm still praying for a false alarm and I'm definitely not being diagnosed on a very limited blood test at that. Hopefully we'll have much better news on the 25th when we have another ultrasound to make sure the baby is developing fine. In a few days I'm going to ask for another blood test to see where that one is at. I'm also desperately hoping that this is subclinical hyperthyroidism if anything, considering that goes away within a few months and all they do is monitoring. Well, I'm doing my best to keep my head up in a very scary situation and hopefully everything will be ok. Thank you all again!

I hope everything goes well for you Lisa
