Hey guys,
I'm only curious cause i have received so many letters back with stamps that don't have postmarks on them and i was wondering if it is possible to reuse them ? I live in Australia and well lets just say USA stamps aren't really the easiest thing to get around here and was thinking about reusing some of them.. yeah i know it is illegal but is it possible ? is there a way the postal system can tell whether it has been used before just out of curiosity

Yep, it's definitely possible and I don't believe it to be illegal at all. The reason that not all stamps will be marked is that you (or the celebrity) put too much postage on the envelope... so the post-office actually wants you to remove the ones that are not marked. As long as you can remove the stamp(s) without a rip occuring and the adhesive still being on the back, you are good to go!

Great just wanted to hear your opinions i have heard that apparently USPS has started stamping invincible postmarks not sure if this is correct :/ but yea also i find cutting the stamps of the envelope and dipping it in warm water for 10-15 minutes and then pealing them off to set to dry on a towel the best idea !!

Everyone that re-uses them: Be advised to BE CAREFUL! There are many US stamps that DO have an "invisible" postmark. In the right light and angle you can see a postmark though.
