Re: Meeting your favorite celebs.
For me, it's been a 50/50 experience. On one hand, some guys are awesome, and on the other, you learn some heroes are jerks. Almost all of my IP success are from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I've been fortunate enough to meet some big name guys such as...
Nascar
Kurt Busch, Mark Martin, Greg Biffle, Chad Knause, Martin Truex Jr., David Ragan, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Joe Nemecheck, Rusty Wallace, Kenny Wallace, Paul Menard, and a few others. Most were great guys, especially Busch, Biffle, Knause, and Menard were awesome. But Ryan Newman and Tony Stewart have been terrible to try and get signatures from every year I've gone. They will not sign for anyone.
Indy Car
Kenny Brach, Parnelli Jones, Tom Sneva, Marco Andretti, AJ Foyt, a lot more when I was a little kid and don't remember. Brach, Jones, and Sneva were at a signing with 8 other Indy 500 winners. I was towards the end of the line that obviously wasn't going meet the hour long time of the autograph session. The other 8 left right after the hour ended, included Mario, Foyt, Unser, and Mears. I met Marco Andretti at a food stand. I didn't have anything for him to sign, but he talked to me for a couple minutes. Awesome guy. I got Foyt at an autograph session one year.
MotoGP
I've met almost every current rider, other than this past years rookie CRT riders. Rossi, Lorenzo, Dovizioso, Hayden, Pedrosa, Marquez, Espargaro, Crutchlow, and Bautista stand out as the nicest guys. Casey Stoner was terrible. I watched him walk away from multiple people, including little kids, and my program was one of only three things I saw him sign all weekend. Ben Spies was also awful. He would not even acknowledge his fans. We waited outside his garage (I'm not a Spies fan, but the two guys with me were HUGE fans). He went to the garage, past us three, no wave, no nod, no signatures all weekend. Acted like nobody was there.
Others
Met former Colts player Jeff Saturday. He was on the same flight I was. He took a picture with me, and was extremely nice. All four members of the UK punk band the UK Subs are extremely cool to meet. Awesome guys. Social Distortion is a bunch of good guys, although I didn't get to meet Mike Ness since he was already on the tour bus. Useless ID is cool to meet if you can catch them after a show.

Been an autograph collector since I was really young. Main focus is punk rock, Denver Broncos, anything related to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and MotoGP.
Currently focused more on the punk rock and motorsports portions of my collection.
