Re: Carrie Fisher
Lol diamonddave with his usual worthless response.
Anyone with the slightest knowledge of autographs and Carrie Fishers signing habits... or anyone who has gotten her IP or has talked to her about her fan mail...
Knows she does NOT sign her mail.
This has been discussed a millions times on this forum and other forums.
If you can't accept otherwise... you're an idiot.

Re: Carrie Fisher
Hi Guys and Gals,
I don't claim to be anywhere near an expert on righteous signatures of anyone except myself and I have strong doubts about most who present themselves as such. I was assured by one of these that a signature I had was totally wrong. I rang the office of the signer only to be told that said signer had been in a car accident where his hand had been damaged so his signature had changed.
As I and many others who have been doing this for a great many years have said signatures will change over time for a good many reasons: just feel like changing it, age, physical problems, mental problems, hurried signings at the stage door, or other places, etc.
I have no problem with comments on any I present, in fact I usually request them as I did with these. However I got taken to task by a member for just suggesting he may want to get a signature checked. So we all have different feelings about our collections. What I find very interesting is the wide range of people that the group goes after. Many I, and I am sure with many of you, have to google the name to see who it is.
With regards to being a moderator, I was asked and did not go looking for it. And if asked by anyone who I felt really mattered I would give it up.
So how about we regain sight as to why we are all part of this group or at least why we should want to be and that is to help each other, give praise to those who earned it, be proud of our and others successes, offer whatever advise we can to all and above all, share with the group. We all know that the hobby has taken a beating because of the web site auctions and sales so we don't need to be beating on ourselves. As I said to a member in a PM today, this is not a bragging site it is a sharing site.
Without giving away too much I have most likely been collecting autographs since before most of you were born. To give a general idea I have from getting them myself at the time, Gen. Omar Bradley, Eddie Rickenbacker, Jimmy Dolittle, J.E. Hoover, and many others. I only mention this to say that if I don't mind someone questioning my successes you shouldn't mind getting the same.
Now on to what started all this. After reading the comments today I rang Freedom Farms and straight out asked the question. I was told that the stuff that arrives there is forwarded to LA and that to the best of knowledge is signed by Carrie Fisher herself. I was told that Ms Fisher takes her fans seriously and that there is no reason why she wouldn't sign herself. The way I accept that is we can all believe what we want and should all be happy with that.
However let's keep the discussion going and maybe I'll write Carrie a letter and ask her. As I've always said if you want to know who is going to win the race, ask the horse not the jockey.
And let's also comment on all the future posting.
Sorry for this long posting but I feel that we have lost the reason we are all part of the group.
Thanks for taking time to read this.

Re: Carrie Fisher
that is very much like me on the calling the source itself. the thing that one could look at is the way the signature is signed. i am not much of an expert, but i do know that some will disagree on your method. i also agree that this site has started to get a little off on what some people will share and what they will not. congrats on the op for at least trying to get her signature, but there are differences between the sec's signature and her genuine. it has been discussed in great measure. happy collecting.george2607 wrote:Hi Guys and Gals,

Re: Carrie Fisher
I bet if you call John Travoltas fan mail they will tell you a similar story.
Without a doubt the fanmail sent to Freedom Farms gets forwarded to Carries house. But guess who her next door neighbor is? Her MOM... Debbie Reynolds. Making it easy for her to sign her mail, like she has been for a while now.
Don't believe that they live next door to each other... research... you'll see.

Makes you wonder why have it sent to the farm to start with???But they are both a bit over the edge so it might make sense to them.

Re: Carrie Fisher
I paid $80 at last years fanexpo in toronto for Carrie`s autograph.
People were getting dvd covers signed. For $80 most I ever paid for a signature I was getting my moneys worth.I printed a 16 by 20 of her in the slave bikini and she signed it!!
My friend got her in person at a theatre gig she was doing in Toronto a while back and she was not touching anything Star Wars related.I don`t think people that can command $80 for their signature would sign ttm let alone do three. Just my opinion.
