The price is definitely high for a private signing but unless we can appeal to a good nature of his assistant or himself, it will be the only way to obtain an authentic autograph via mail.

I wish these type of difficult signers private signings (Ed O'Neill is doing one too) would have started 5-10 years ago for toughies like Tony Curtis, Paul Newman or Charlton Heston who have passed though there's still a lot of secretarial users around now!

Yes indeed, that's one of his authentic signatures.

Did he personalize it and write a message? Secretaries can do a signature, but if he wrote your name, it has to be real. Secretaries can know a font, but it is unlikely. They just know the signature and maybe (even this is unlikely) a message that the celebrity writes to everyone. So if it was personalized, it was real.
