I sent a letter, SASE and two cd inserts to Cannibal Corpse at their 02/08 show at the Fillmore in San Francisco. The letter left my home on 01/30. Received my two inserts today 02/21 signed! VERY happy with this one. I have wanted their autographs for a long time. The cool thing about this one was the fact that I have a good friend and co-worker whose aunt is related to Paul Mazurkiewicz the drummer. I mentioned that in the letter. But from what I know of him and the rest of the band, I would have gotten my stuff signed regardless. Which is very cool.

I'm glad someone enjoys and looks forward to my successes! I see you are waiting on Nightwish. I will be giving them a try shortly myself. FYI, the very first date they play here in the states is a venue that DOES pass on fan mail!

Then first of all good luck to you ;) and thanks for the info, but till now I only tried VV in Germany as this is easier and cheaper also I it is hard with sending to other countries because the forwarder takes longer than estimated as far as I read here :S
but maybe I will just try

also hoping on getting backstage on a festival here, were they are headliner and I´m part of the streetteam

Thanks! And I understand why you would stick to VV in your own country. I have not tried at all outside of the United States. The only successes I have had from out of the US were through email. I offered to pay for the postage at least but they took care of it.

I really hope I hear back from Nightwish. I have recently became a fan of theirs. My wife's father, who is 55 years old, likes them a lot too. He prefers the instrumental versions though as he is more into the whole "theatrical" type sound they have then anything else.

As far as I know they are very nice VV ;) so a good chance. I tried them via email and TTM to their record company but they are really hard to get that way :/

you can see my nightwish successes on my website or here if you search. I'm a Die Hard NIGHTWISH fan. Is not so difficult to get an success via the management. And I will try it also via her tour now in the states. Because festivals are sh*** and german tour dates give at not in this moment. Yes it's true it's expensive to write but the US Clubs are very very fan friendly as german managers. I know that. If you write to 5 US Clubs given 4 your a info about forwarding. (and that's very important for me) You write to 5 German clubs you will get maybe 1 answer.
