Wedding Anniversary Gift [need help]
Hey all,
It my first year marriage anniversary and I am trying to get possibly the best gift ever and I'm searching for help. My wife and I are both huge Adam Sandler Fans, and our wedding song was "I Wanna Grow Old With You" from the movie the wedding singer. Any way here is my situation:
- I have gotten my hands on an Original 1998 "The Wedding Singer" movie poster and I was hoping to send it to Adam Sandler to get it signed.
- My concerns:
- the poster gets lost in the mail
- it takes +4 months to get it back
- it gets returned to me without an autograph [they don't accept the poster]
Has anyone every tried to send a large package and gotten a response? I plan on writing and hand written letter as well but wanted to see if anyone had suggestions.
Thanks so much,
Rob

Unless you're extremely lucky, most replies are sent in the form of a postcard but Adam does sign in person if you ever had the chance to be in the same place.afmissileer wrote:Hey all,

Welcome to fanmail, great first post.
Re: Wedding Anniversary Gift [need help]
How about doing some research into Adam's agent/manager and contacting them, by phone, letter or email? Explain the request and they may be able to help and be willing to go that extra step for you.
You could send a letter to the agency, research contact names & details, look for a twitter account even.
Rather than a standard fanmail request which will probably get added to the pile.

I wasn't sure how the agent contact worked, I know that their numbers and such are posted here. Is sending them an email a kosher thing to do?

Also what about sending a card stock or some type of material and placing that in the frame with the movie poster?

Most professional framing companies will be able to frame and/or have the item matted with stock card.afmissileer wrote:Also what about sending a card stock or some type of material and placing that in the frame with the movie poster?
Maybe as suggested contacting via email or phone might be a way to inquire.

Re: Wedding Anniversary Gift [need help]
So my plan of attack is this,
I am going to send mail to Adam's agent Sandy Wernick to see if he can help me out, if I get a reply great if not I'll have to come up with a new plan, but should I send the poster to Sandy with a pre stamped return label so he just has to put it in the mail?
Thoughts?
the address is:
Sandy Wernick
Brillstein-Grey Entertainment
9150 Wilshire Boulevard
Suite 350
Beverly Hills, CA 90212
Phone: 310-275-6135

Somewhere on here is posted a list of TTM tips and the one that had stuck with me is:
If something you want to send is irreplaceable and you would be heartbroken/distraught to lose it, don't send it.
Adam Sandler is an A list actor: very few of them sign authentically through the mail. I would send an email to his agent to see what he thought. But even them there is no guarantee:I contacted an agent, was told to send and I haven't seem my item since. That was 2012 or 2013. Some people just don't sign TTM.

That seems off the agent would tell you to send if it wouldn't be signed for you.
Re: Wedding Anniversary Gift [need help]
What he told me was that he would "forward my items to the star."
I do think I followed up after a while but didn't hear back.
I guess the star doesn't sign: I haven't seen a success in 10 years and none that wasn't VV.
