Finding the right photos to send

I've been using Moviemarket.com for years and just found celebrity8x10s.com.

My problem is that I can't find anywhere the 8x10 color photos I want to send for the following people. If anyone knows where I can buy these, then please LMK.

I'm aware via forums that one can download and print desired photos from the net, but I don't have a photo printer and tried using local printers before, but they charge waaay too much and the quality is iffy.

The people and desired pics are:

Robin Lord Taylor, Gotham, as Penguin
Ron Glass, Firefly, as Book
Tom Mison, Sleepy Hollow, as Ichabod
Clark Gregg, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., as Agent Coulson (doesn't he send out a color one on request?)
John DiMaggio, Futurama, Bender
Billy West, Futurama, Fry
Dan Castellaneta, Futurama, Robot Devil

I use the download and print method. I take them to CopyMax and have them put on photo quality paper. The price is pretty reasonable and, so far, the only poor quality ones I've gotten were due to my choice of a bad photo. Pixelation due to having a small photo blown up too much.

For your Futurama pictures you might have to get one picture of the actor and one of the character and combine the two into one picture. I did this with a voice actress for a video game. Of course, this takes you back to the problem of using a local printer.

You might have some luck asking them for one. I did that for the cast of Scorpion. I just told them I couldn't find a good one. But I'm still pretty new at this so I don't know how often that's likely to work.

I took some high-res pics to several places that print photos that way, and the results were quite mixed.
Some printers left splotches on the pics. or pixels, or streaks.
I used the highest res pics I could find, and made sure they were at least 8x10 in Photoshop.
I saved them in bitmap formats of original size, and resized to 8x10.
Perhaps I should keep looking for stores with better quality printers.

On the next page where it says "Find other sizes of this image" click Large. Then see if there's a high resolution version of the one you want. I'm not sure what country you're in, but then just use a photo printing service to get them printed as photos, maybe a supermarket or something instead of local services. I personally use Tesco and an 8x10 is only £1.20. I just searched for one quickly and found a lot of very high resolution Penguin pictures that would print as good photos.

dscolourlabs charge 50p for a 12x8 so £1.20 for a 10x8 sounds expensive, aldi photos is cheap too but I stick with dscolourlabs who have perfect results every time.

I use snapfish online who also have a US site.

Sign up to the emails will get you frequent discount codes (if it is like the UK) and I never pay full price, often get free postage etc.

I just upload pictures to an album there as I need them, and order when there is a special offer on.

They can be so cheap you can easily try different photos and get prints of them all.

Well. finally I was able to solve my problem.
I downloaded some hi-res pix,and saved them in bitmaps as 2 types: original size, and resized to 8x10.

I went to a Wal-green's near my house, asked to use the photo kiosk as I'd never used one before. Sadly, the manager was helping me. Sat down, plugged in my flash drive, made some selections.

He asked, "Are you the original copyright holder of these photos?" I replied no, as I downloaded them for the sole purpose of mailing them to the stars to get signed, and I wasn't selling them.

So he proceeds to raise a ruckus about copyright laws, how they could get into trouble...and I pointed out that some pics I got off the celeb's own websites. And I can't BUY these photos anywhere so I'd have to print them myself. He kept fussing so I just left.

Went to a Walmart, and the photo manager was standing right behind me, eyeballing the pics. I knew he was going to ask about copyrights, and he did. So I just left.

Went to another Wal-green's, and it was glorious. The photo gal was very helpful, and left me alone while I worked. She also showed me they had a special in the store flyer for photo enlargements, so it saved me some dough.

My printed photos were just as good or better than I'd buy online or get at shows, glossy on Fuji paper. Three pics cost me $9 and change with that promo.

Now, how am I going to find hi-res photos of actors/actresses when I can't find them online and nobody sells them? Diana Muldaur from Star Trek: TNG. Can't find a decent Pulaski pic anywhere. Only one close is sold on Amazon, but the quality is not good.

Amazing how hard its been for you, it sounds like you could do with finding a good online printer.

Did you use Google images and use the settings to view large images?

Use Google to search for images (image search)and upload them to a photo printing site, have them delivered.

It really does not need to be any more complicated than that.
