Re: Ray Charles, real or AP?
I have an authentic that I can check for you soon, I'll let you know, it looks good to me right now since my photo is from his office and includes his letter.
Re: Ray Charles, real or AP?
I don't know Ray Charles well, but I do know that APs were not as advanced before he died as they are now, and I don't see any obvious signs in the lettering that I'd expect to see in an AP from that era (shaking, start/stop dots, etc). There is, what appears from your photo, to be some shaking on the "dot" of the "I", but I have no problem dismissing that based on how clean the line from the "S" is (an AP from back then would not be able to pull that off so cleanly).StratasFan wrote:Hi! Got this picture in a garage sale lot and am wondering if this is AP or PP or real? Any thoughts? Thanks for any advice!
Though I could be wrong, I have no problems saying it's not an AP.
It could still be a Sec or a PP though. Like I said, I'm not well versed in Ray Charles' autograph or signing habits.
WaltG123 != WaltG123. & WaltG123,
There's a difference between blue text & a URL, ****. Those who can't read will be added to my ignore list.

Awww, how cute. Someone who thinks that people will be dumb enough to believe that they're me, despite the blatant period & completely different post numbers.
And, of course, the obvious fact that if, if it were me, I would've edited the post, not replied to it. Not to mention it's not necessarily true that "nobody but her will know why she signed it twice" & I'm smart enough to know that.
Not to mention the grammatical mistakes.
But, please, carry on. You can help me find more people to add to my ignore list. I don't need to be bothered reading posts by users that are stupid enough to believe that these 2 accounts are the same. I appreciate the help in weeding out the ****. So thank you.

Re: Ray Charles, real or AP?
Hi, sorry for the delay, I've just checked the photo I have which is different and his autograph is both printed in the corner and he has signed clearly across the middle which takes up lots of space and I would say its completely different but doesn't mean its not real, mine is also dedicated with letter from Ray Charles Enterprises.
Mr. Charles also signed in silver on the one I have.

Hi! Thanks for all the help. I was kind of thinking it over and wondering how someone who could not see since very young could achieve such handwriting? I've read a lot about teaching blind people to write over the years, and this doesn't have any of the signs. Just wondering if he had a sec to sign.
