I always send out pictures and get most of them back signed, the ones I haven't had back will hopefully be coming in soon

After getting placed on the active roster and showing up to the huge fighter apperence / grand opening of the new jackaon's mma gym over the weekend..is it worth a shot to send out a card or two try to get Jon Jones??

8x10s have a better success rate than do card ttm bc they are bigger.
A fighter is more likely to sign 2-3 9x12 envelope TTM w/photos vs 10-20 business envelope TTM w/cards.
(this was advise gleaned from back when I used to TTM MLB 5+ yrs ago)
And this is what Robbie Lawler did most recently - only signed TTM photos came back in his last fanmail signing c/o ATT Gym.

The 9x12 envelope TTM w/photos is A LOT less likely to be misplaced and/or refused.
The ONLY issues with photos is the cost of printing, postage, and supplies.... and you run out of wall space quicker ;)
TTM photos is a good bet but I wouldn't send more than 2 to each fighter, whereas I believe I can get away with asking for 5 different Topps cards signed especially when I'm sending a couple for them to keep as a "Thanks"; and there isn't a sales market for IP/TTM signed Topps cards like there can be for signed photos.
Have fun!

Everything he said is spot on. I've only ever sent 2 photos to a fighter once (Couture). I have gotten a lot smarter though and started sending cards with the pictures with good success. 1-2 cards only though.

mkor: Just know that TTM'ing is never a sure thing. Don't send anything you can't afford to not get back. The first 10 years of this hobby for me, I sent 8x10's. I was sending two or three at a time but it definitely makes it a pricey hobby.

Instead of just sending, I now spend a lot more time trying to contact the fighter before sending anything. May it be through Facebook, Twitter, Official Websites or through the gym - that way, I have had a little more success and can follow up a little easier.

Sending anything more than three is definitely going to make it harder on the person you sent to - they think the items are going to be sold and since they aren't going to make money - they likely won't sign all the items.

When I was sending to any fighter out of the country, I included a few extra dollars to help cover cost of shipping (if my IRC didn't cover the cost).

Best of Luck.

Pretty good way to start off the month. Ironically, this day last month was the last time I received anything. I hope that isn't the case this month. This took 133 days

Just a heads up! Felice Herrig posted a pic on Instagram of a pile of signed UFC promos for fan mail. So, if you've sent to her recently, be on the lookout for a reply.

Sadly, I've been holding out to send to her until I got a card or a magazine with her on it. So, looks like I'll be sending out a request for her soon.
