Meeting with a living legend... Fritz Rau (with photos)

On July 15th I had the pleasure to meet with the legendary Fritz Rau, who's been Europe's most successful tour promoter for the past 50 years and has been a close friend to the late Bill Graham. He was the one who brought the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Madonna, Frank Sinatra, Joe Cocker, Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Prince and hundreds of other artists to Europe for the very first time.

He was really gentle and after I had mentioned that I'm a huge Madonna fan he smiled to me and said "Me too. She's a great artist!". He signed a 8x12 inch colour photo and 3 Rolling Stones Backstage Pass Laminates for me.

After we had talked for a while he told me to write down his phone number and give him a call after he returns from his holidays in mid-August to arrange a meeting at his mansion. I still can't believe Mr. Rau has actually invited me to his house to show me his huge collection of signed contracts, photos and personal gifts by his artists. I'll definately bring my camera and keep you updated!!!
