I have seen SO MANY on this site it makes me sick. WHY? WHY? WHY? Lock a topic when the discussion is going fine there is no obscene remarks, maybe some rude remarks but honestly the discussion is for the better of the hobby!!! Admin and certain others have the ability to delete someones post if it is vulgar or obscene without locking the topic!!! I am so sick of the" I'm locking this post before it gets out of hand" Quite frankly it's a joke! Admin the site is actually a really good site for young collectors and I commend you for what your doing BUT Damn it! let the disscusions go on. You lock a post , It disappears and in a few days another post starts it all up again. I honestly believe that everyone on this site actually loves the hobby of autograph collecting. I'll be the first to admit when you see the mailman putting in 1,2,3,4 manilla(yellow) envelopes in your mailbox you practically break a leg getting out there.LOL. Quite honestly in discussions your going to have rude or what is percieved to be rude comments although percieved it's not always the case. Mods. Don't be so fast in locking topics just because you believe that it will get out of hand. I honestly believe if alot of the topics that are being locked are able to continue( granted you may have to delete a post or 2) It will be better for this site and better for the hobby.

I will agree with you in theory that it makes for some great debates as long as people are respectful of the other persons ideas and views. The magical thing about debates is to try and cast your feelings and opinions onto another and vice versa and see if either one of the parties involved in the debate can take something out of the conversation. As long as the conversation is civil and not on the borderline of becoming agressive or rude may be the better word for it, then I would never lock a topic. However, at the same time, I would hope that anyone that is capable of posting successes on here in any capacity would be mature enough to respect the other person's views and beliefs, no matter how far they stray away from their own. Agree to disagree is what I've always called it. And leave it at that. Speak your mind, make your point, but don't do it in a way that belittles the other person's opinion or attacks their character when all they are trying to do is help, albeit their tactics may differ from how you would do it.

Thank you for your suggestions/concern.

I am all for good debate as long as it is civil.

All moderators/admins have a reason in mind when they lock the topic.

It may not be clear to you at the time of locking it, but trust me, we do.

If you disagree with the above statement please post a link to the topic where locking it was not justified.

Joel is quite correct.

The moderators and admins are all for a long dicussion, but as Joel said, it has to be civil.

Like he said, we have our reasons for locking a topic, however unapparent it may seem, we do...trust me

I absolutely agree with you. My point is if a topic is being discussed and it's been civil and unless an infraction( according to the sites rules and policies) accure then it should be able to go on without someone coming in and locking the topic premature because of what they percieve might get out of hand. Granted there are some that go WAAYYY OVERBOARD,Cursing, name calling etc etc.( Rude obviously I can live with.) LOL. Then the moderators erase that post sit(ban) that person down for whatever they feel is appropriate and let the discussion go on. No reason to shut down an entire post where at times some involved in the post actually want to hear opnions regardless if they agree or disagree. I've been collecting probably longer than most on here were even born( which is irrelevant, I could be an old cook. lol) BUT I've had some great discussions with RSVP who has actually opened my eyes regarding certain Autographs which by the way RSVP I'm getting those darn headaches again hitting the books and the internet Researching again. LOL. Anyways for the better of the hobby and the young collectors on here all I ask is do what you can to keep posts open and let discussions go on. Beyond all popular belief I'm not the bad guy and I honestly don't look for contraversy.Let's face it I'll never be president or a Moderator. LOL. you have to be politically correct for that.[/u]

I'm honestly glad that we've met on here since I really enjoy the discussion we've had on here so far about authenticity.

@ all others:
Even if some might not agree with us, it's still a discussion and everyone is invited to post his/her personal thoughts and views on a certain issue.

But you must also understand that I can't take anyone serious who argues that a signature must be authentic because he/she had to wait several months to receive it or because the signature was meant to be for an 11-year old kid.

As long as a professional opinion is given on an issue I'm fine with it. But those naive and unrealistic commets (without meaning to be offensive or rude) really bug me.

I totally agree !! I never in my life heard the argument of" it has to be authentic because it took so long" until I came on this site. I honestly would like to know who the first one was who posted that reasoning/ argument because I want their autograph. LOL
