i was wondering..
when you have to send out a lot of celebrity autographs requests... how do you write the letter you enclose? i mean, you write a typed one or a handwritten one when you have to send a lot of requests?

Hey Erika

It's best to send to a select few as that narrows down how you write your letter instead of sending a generic letter. I send typed letters but change what I write from what I did in previous ones. But it's up to you how you want to do it

I prefer to handwrite my requests as I feel that it makes my letters more personal. It may take longer than typing, But I feel this is a better way to do it, as even though you've compleletly changed what you wrote in previous ones, when you're typing, It may look more like a form letter to a celebrity, as you can easily change just a few wrods.

But that's just my thoughts on the subject..

I prefer to hand write my letters, as I feel it brings a uniqueness and personal touch that you can't get when you type your letters. It takes a little longer (as Aimee said), but I feel that it's worth it in the end.

However, you can type your letters on the computer if you wish (or if your handwriting is messy that the celebrity will have trouble reading it). If you do so, make sure that you do not make each letter sound generic in nature - i.e. "filling in blanks" in a letter. You have to make each letter sound original.

It's up to you which way you choose to write your letters.

I do as best I can to make them less generic but how can I make it more personal? I am currently writing a letter to Ellen DeGeneres but I find it hard on what to say as her show isn't broadcasted in this country. I loved her as 'Dori' in 'Finding Nemo' so thats why I am writing but I don't know what else to say

I know it's not easy writing a letter. I go through blank periods and things like that at times.

I guess when you write to Ellen you should just say stuff like you saw Finding Nemo, loved her work as Dori, why you liked Dori, your favourite moment in the film (preferably a scene with Dori) ... and elaborate from there. Once you get in the rhythm of things everything goes on from there.

Some actors and actresses I send to don't have a very huge role in the film... I just write what I thought of them in the movie and the role, sometimes it's not many lines! I start my letter with introducing myself and telling I'm a big Bond fan... Then almost always I talk about the movie she/he was in, and in the end I put the autograph part.
My introduction is pretty much the same in every letter, the middle part is what's different

I always handwrite my letters. I only write to celebs who I'm a big fan of so I always have plenty to say, plus I want them to know that what I am saying to them is genuine cos I feel like a typed letter looks like you haven't put in much effort. Its like when I receive a handwritten letter from a celeb, it means more cos you know what they are saying is to you personally.

Yes I handwrite all my letters as well. The length of them vary, but they are often about one page long

I used to think it would be easier to send out the same letter and just change the name, but if we can't even write personal letters to the celebrities we admire, how can you expect them to give you personal responses??
