Sample Letters

Unread post by FLGirl9832 »

I'm new to collecting and have been getting very useful tips from this site, but I still have a small problem. While I have no problem with movies stars and musicians, I have no idea what to write television actors and especially sports players. Usually my I have only seen my TV folk on one show and I don't want my letter to be all about their character since they suaully hear tons of that. And I have NO IDEA what to write sports players. I have a few favorites and have ever purchased photos to send to them for them to sign, but I don't know what to say other than "You had a great year. Keep up the good work". Would anyone be willing to post a sample letter that they've written or have any tips to give me an idea of what my letters should be like? Thanks for the help.

Hi FLGirl

I moved your topic to this forum instead

This will probably help you:

My letters consist of three "parts". In the first part I write about myself (not long), in the second part I tell them how much I like them in that/those movie/movies. In the third and final part I ask them if I can have an autograph.

My letters are max. one page long

Good luck!

I also find it hard top write to football players, but I normally just tell them about how I think they have been playing, also talking about what is in the press is a good idea, for example when I requested Michael Owen, I mentioned that he was injured and that I hoped he made a quick recovery.

Hi FLGirl9832 :D

In your request, I would probably add ideas including:

- An introduction of yourself
- Why you're writing to the celebrity
- What you like about his/her work
- A request for an autograph
- Thank the celebrity for their time and wish them all the best

If you're writing to sports stars, you may want to mention your favourite sporting moment with the player you're writing to, why you support him/her, why the player you're writing to do is your hero/mentor etc.
