Well, I don't know, but here's a tip

Always send SASE or IRC, and don't just send to people you know answer without postage Write to those you admire, and if you want, try without a SASE or IRC.

It's up to you, but I think it's always nicer to pay the postage.

If you're writing to a celebrity & you want an autograph back, sending an SASE is always a good thing. Understand this, sending an SASE is a polite thing to do espically since the celebrity just has to put the letter, autograph, et al into the envelope & send it out.

There are a few celebrities who don't require an SASE but most will need an SASE espically since you're the one who wants an autograph back so you should pay for the postage.

Kevin Costner didn't reply to me (well it's been 8 months) and I didn't send a SASE, so not sure about that one...

Just be patient, many celebrities are very busy so it takes time for them to reply to you. It can take days, weeks, months even years to get a response back. In fact, some people mentioned on fanmail that it took almost 3 yrs to get a response back.

Also remember, some celebrities don't even read the fanmail , these types of celebrities either throw their mail away or they read their mail but never respond.

But remember, many celebrities will read their fanmail & respond back, it's just that most of them are very busy.

Some celebrities will respond, even if you don't send them SASE's or IRC's.

If you want to see whether someone has responded without SASE's or IRC's, just search their feedback.

However, it is highly recommended that you do send a SASE or IRC's with any request you send out - as it is only a matter of politeness and can increase your chances of getting a reply. Remember, you want to make the process of receiving an autograph from them as quick and easy as possible. If you don't, your request can be ignored altogether.
