Going to England (again)

Unread post by F.A.D.E »

Hello,

Just wanted to let you all know that I won't be online from December 4th - 10th as I will be London on a study trip. I will be interviewing different places and write an assignment about integration of young people.

Will also try and make my way to Birmingham to go to the Clothes Show to catch Duncan James in person. I really wanted to go to the premiere of The Holiday as I have never ever been to one and would love to see what they are like and catch a glimpse of Jude Law :D  :P The only Hollywood celebs I have ever met is Elijah Wood so it could be awesome! But unfortunately I can only be one place at a time so I chose Duncan. Fingers crossed I will see him this time.

Hi Fatima :D

Have fun in London ... lucky you!! It's a bit too far and costs a bit too much to have study trips to London from here

Stay safe ... and I hope you do meet Duncan James :)

I would love to go to London one day too (it's on the list of things to do ...)

Hi Fatima :D

Have great fun in London. You seem to be over here so much recently I think you are going to start picking up the accent

Seriously, have a great time, and make sure you get to see the lights in Oxford Street ( http://www.oxfordstreet.co.uk/whats-on/ ... mas-lights ) and the tree in Trafalgar Square! ( http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/trafalgar_s ... index.html ).

The tree comes from Norway every year and in recognition of Britain's support to Norway in WWII. This year it will be lit on 7th December by HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway. The Mayor of Oslo and HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway will also be present at the ceremony.

Have a great time!

Thank you so much for posting all that useful info, Ian!! I really appriciate it!!! :D I am not that good at finding that sort of info myself. I just saw that the stars from Flushed Away lit the lights in Regent Street earlier this month - would have loved to see that! :D

Once again, thank you so much! I am now going to take a look those websites and see if I find anything else interesting...

No problem Fatima :D

I know that the All Saints girls switched the lights on in Oxford Street this year as well. I totally love seeing the lights in London at Christmas. I am such a sucker for all that nostalgia stuff, and I am always one of the many people on Oxford Street on Christmas Eve - panic shopping!

If you have time you totally have to go to Hamleys toy store ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamleys ) which is the biggest toystore in the UK and just like "Miracle on 34th Street at Christmas" Also, Harrods is well worth a visit ( http://www.harrods.com/Cultures/en-GB/homepageindex.htm )

I will have to stop now, otherwise I am going to fill up your "educational trip" with shopping and sightseeing

Have a great time!
Ian
