There's one problem to that - we could set a limit of 250 posts, but if members just post in Games or "spam" the forums like some members do with posts like "Great success" in the Feedback forum, they could reach this post limit rather quickly. Furthermore, these members may not show any experience in autograph collecting. Moderators should be experienced and able to help members with autograph collecting.
Therefore, I think we should focus on quality, not quantity of posts.

You have a point there. How about a time limit then? Let's say they have to be a member for at least 3 months or so before they ask and then we can discuss them in this moderator area?nowandagain wrote:There's one problem to that - we could set a limit of 250 posts, but if members just post in Games or "spam" the forums like some members do with posts like "Great success" in the Feedback forum, they could reach this post limit rather quickly. Let me try to explain what I think.
We shouldn't have more moderators than we have now.
I mean, we can't just add more mods all the time just because they are good members... To be a moderator is not an award or something for beeing a good member. Moderators are controlling the forum to keep it as clean, nice and well-functioning as possible. It's not a VIP status.
So, if there is no need for more moderators, why should we add more?
Do you see my point?

I personally think we all do a great job but not all of us can be online at anyone time.
For example, dgangel is more than a good member. She reports spam, helps find people addresses and shows interest in the forum. I think if she is accepted, then perhaps slow down the JM process.
But 90% of them I can see getting rejected anyway

The spamming in the games section to gain posts gave me an idea. Some other forums that I am a member of have certain restrictions placed on post counts. For example, I was thinking that if admin decided to turn the post count off for the games section, it may curb the number of members trying to increase their post count...

I do not agree. Most of them are very helpful for the forums and will probably become full ModerarorsTheMailman wrote:But 90% of them I can see getting rejected anyway

Yep, that's a great idea, I've been thinking of that too as mi6forums has it that way aswell.cernan wrote:The spamming in the games section to gain posts gave me an idea. I think General Discussion and Games should have frozen post counts
