UK to Spain
i just tried to send my first mail overseas (from the UK) to FC Barcelona, a soccer club in Spain. I did not include an IRC because I know someone who did not and had a success.
My problem is that I just included two 1st class stamps on the letter. Ive heared that this will take about two weeks or so (or maybe never- worst case scenario) if you did not stick in an 'AirMail' sticker.
Can you please tell me if everything is going to work out at all?

Firstly, your two first class stamps (30p each - total 60p) will be more than enough to get up to a 20gm letter (should be 47p) to Spain by airmail.
By rights, you should have an airmail sticker on it which would give you delivery with in a few days. If the Royal Mail are "on the ball" they should realise your letter qualifies for airmail delivery. If not, it will go surface mail which can take up to a month, but is usually there within 2 weeks. (Just think about how ling your holiday postcards take to get home!)
Don't worry about it NEVER arriving, it will arrive, but in somewhere between 3 days and a month!
Just for your info, airmail stickers are available FREE from your local post office, or just write AIRMAIL in marker at the top of the letter if you run out!
Hope this helps!

Yes, preferably you would want to use an Airmail sticker.
But providing you write AIRMAIL at the top middle of your envelope it will do the same thing.
Cheers

Stamps
Hi aliens vs predator, aliens vs predator wrote:Cool, i didn't realise that either. So all you need to do is just write airmail on the top middle then put the normal stamps in the correct place? do you still have to hand it in to the post office or can you just put it in a post box?

You can do either. But the benefit of handing it in at the post office is that they can actually weigh it for you and confirm you have paid enough (or too much) in stamps. Also if you hand it in over the counter the assistant will put a free airmail sticker on it for you.
Alternatively if you tend to be sending out the same weight letters time after time, get it weighed once to get the correct postage, and ask the post office cashier for a load of airmail stickers. In future (as long as your letters all weigh the same) you only need to affix the same value of stamps and an airmail sticker.
Cheers!
