Moderators Able To Delete Posts In All Forums?

Unread post by Aimee OC »

With The Ever-Increasing Amount Of Spam Being Posted On The Forums. (Today I've Seen Around 30 Spam Posts) I Thought It Would Be Good If All Moderators Can Delete Posts In All Forums. As I Only Moderate General Discussion, I Have Only Been Able To Delete 2 Out Of The 30 Pieces Of Spam.

No Other Moderators Are Online As I'm Posting This & Therefore The Spam Will Remain On The Forums Until Mod's Of The Appropriate Forums Log In.

Therefore, I Thought It Would Be Good If We Were All Permitted To Delete Posts In All Forums. I Think This Would Cut Down On The Amount Of Spam On The Forum & Will Prevent Unaware Users From Getting Viruses From Clicking On The Links.

What Do You Guys Think?

Yep that'd be a good thing. :)

But I think you need to be a "full" moderator on that section in that case, so the solution is: Every moderator moderates every forum.

Yes, you're probably right about that, Johan.

But I also liked the idea of having the "responsibility" for certain boards which you have most knowledge or information about.

I agree :D

I used to moderate Auto Discussion and VV feedback (I like them), but I started to moderate GD aswell when the spam increased a lot in there.

I totally agree Aimee {up}

I think the whole "moderators for a sepertate forum" should be ditched and we all moderate the whole board :wink:

Sorry guys. Only overall moderators can have such a permission :)

It would be too long for you to delete all these posts one by one anyway :)

Ban the spammers and their posts will be deleted automatically.

Can we ban members in any forum, or only in our own?

I'm pretty sure that you can only ban members in your own forum.

You are quite correct cernan. You'll only see the red ban and yellow warning buttons in the forums you moderate.
