Would that stop spammers?

I noticed the registration form does not include this {up}

I thought we already have to validate the email address when signing up. I still have the email I received when I signed up (well, this was back in 2005):

I think many of the spammers aren't bots but are actual people, which is how they manage to bypass the system :?

There is no validate e-mail address field whislt registering.

nowandagain just showed us that you must click a link in the email you receive in order to activate your account... :?

That would mean that a valid email address must be provided, and somebody must open the email that is sent and click the link.

Yes, in order to be able to post on the forum you need to click that link to make sure your account is activated.

Exactly, in order to even receive this email you need to have access to the email address and can receive emails. This is a form of "verification" to make sure the email address is valid.
