Address valid for...?

Unread post by Sai »

Hi I was going to write to Jensen and Jared from 'Supernatural', however it says on the address on this site that the address correct until March 29th. Does this mean after the 29th any mail sent there won't get to them or that they are getting a new address or somthing? I am concerned because I can't afford to write to them now but was going to write to them next month, but I am afrai if I write then by the time my letter gets to them the address won't be up to date. Can anyone shed some light for me as to what the address validity date means and when should I send my letter? :? :? :?

Via Venue Addresses are for a limited time only. Via Venue means you're sending to the Studio or movie set where they are doing the filming.

If you sent after the "expired date" for a movie your request will come back.but for a tv show they might keep it untill they start filming the next season of the show or they can forward it to the celebs agency.

If you check the database we sometimes have more then one address for one celeb. If not we'll be more then happy to see if we can find another contact address.

Hope this helps.

If you have more questions do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks that explains that all for me :) I looked and there is a secondary address for both Jared and Jensen, however the two address are different and I was hoping to one send a letter to the both of them so I could get both autographs on the one photo and I don't know whether it will get passed on to both actors if I send it to a address that they don't share. Is that the case or are they likely to pass it on to both actors?

Hope I'm not being a pain with these questions, but it costs me almost $30 to send the letter, SASE and ICRS per address so I really want to make sure I get things as right as I can before I send out so that I minimise the chance of something going wrong or disappointment :(

Hi Sai :D

Try to have your request sent out now. You'll be able to send to both Jared and Jensen at the same time. The validity of the address until the 29th of March probably means that they'll be filming up to that date.

How can it cost you almost $30 to send a request!?!?! It definitely doesn't cost me that much :? What do you send which makes it so expensive?

Stamps cost $1.85 for standard letters, $3.70 for large envelopes up to 50 grams. Add the cost of 2 or 3 IRC's ($2.60 each) and postal stationary (envelopes/paper etc) per request, I can't understand why it costs you nearly $30.

Okay well maybe more $25. I buy padded envelopes to make sure the photo doesn't get bent, then a bigger (non padded) envelop for it to go in. Because of the size they tell me it classifies as a package charge so it's more expensive. The I usually buy 4 IRC's just to be sure as the paded envolopes wiegh more which also bumps my price up as well as the return price. Plus they charge me more for airmail. *sigh*

I don't know, maybe I send too big a envelops, its just the last 2 autographs I got, they were almost the size of an A4 peice of paper so I want to be safe. All the charges and amount of ICR's are what the post office advised me to send. *shruggs* :|

Can you suggest a cheaper way because I would REALLY appreciate it! :)

If you want to make sure that your large photos don't get bent in the mail, I'd suggest using regular paper envelopes (9x12 inch / C4 size) with a piece of (thin) card. The card will protect and stop photos from getting bent bending in the post.

Therefore, if you use these envelopes (one for your SAE, the other addressed to the celebrity):

- It will cost around $3.70 to send (for a letter up to 50 grams) overseas
- You will need 2 or 3 IRC's (at $2.60 each). You can probably get away with sending 2.

As such, it will cost you at least $8.90 in postage ... and this is via Air Mail!! It's much better than wasting $25 on your requests.

Sending larger envelopes for your SAE is a good idea, as many celebrities send larger 8x10 inch photos. Even if the celebrity you write to doesn't, any photo they send will fit in your large C4 sized envelope.

Your welcome Sai

Sending paper envelopes is much cheaper than sending bulky padded ones. $3.70 will cover the cost of a 50 gram 9x12 inch / C4 sized envelope. I normally send small 6x4 photos with SASE / SAE & IRC's overseas and manage to fit everything inside a small standard sized envelope, which only costs me $1.85 in postage plus the cost of an IRC. This is cheaper still, but I think larger 8x10 photos are nicer - so you should send your 9x12 inch SAE and IRC's.

Good luck!
