ever get discouraged?

I only started collecting in feb. but since then I have collected 17 autographs. my question is do you ever get discouraged when you see someone sent out a lor after you and recieved a response before you?

Oh my gosh all the time! I have sent out like 70 letters in the past year and all these people are getting replys, and sometimes I wonder but then I'll recieve just one thing and send out another 10, lol...its like an addiction heheh

no not really. You have to understand that the letters get piled up on top of each other, so the request that was sent first, isnt always the one thats going to be read first.

I definitely do. Especially when you see that you sent a star a SASE when the other person didn't or you sent another photo than they did and then they recieve back and you don't

But always remember, eventually you're time will come to shine!

yeah, thats kind of how im feeling right now, i'm having a "dry spell", haha.. but i do understand that the fanmail is not at all in order from when it was sent out so i try to reassure myself that mine will come sometime!

yep, I am having a dry spell too. but i'm trying to send out at least one request a day, so hopefully i'll be getting some autographs in soon.

Ive only sent 1 request on the 16th of march, and about 20 over the past two weeks of April, i wonder if my successes will ever come, but im sure ill get them all of a sudden at the end of the summer!

At one time I was sending out half a dozen a week, but lately I just cant be bothered.

I have only sent one thing since last November! But I got a good result so thats what counts.

yea all the time... esp. when someone receives a success from one of your requestees.. its a bummer... but it also give you a little hope that you should be getting one as well... i hate when that happens though... you wish it was you...

To be honest I'm not into this for the whole "collecting" element, I just have a few celebrities that I love very much, and an autograph from them would be lovely to have.

I sent out one of my requests this week (planning to send 1 out every couple of weeks). I hope I get something...
