Charity Auctions

Unread post by cuddlyewok »

Hi all,

I would like to ask the more seasoned collectors who request signed memorabilia for a charity auction a question.

When writing a letter, when you state "It is our hope that willing celebrities will be generous enough to donate signed memorabilia or photographs for auction" or something along them lines, do you actually receive anything other than signed/PP photo's? And if so, roughly what percentage of requests actually result in different memorabilia?

The reason I ask, is that in my letters, I have stated what is mentioned above, but for my charity auction, it would be nice to receive other items as well as signed/PP photo's.

Many thanks in advance, and best wishes

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

I know I probably don't really count as experienced, but I'll still answer

I write something along the lines of:

...and i was wondering if you would be able to donate any signed photographs or memborabilia that you may have... etc

So far I've had some great items... Signed posters, stickers, magazines, and a mug

Hi James, and many thanks for the reply.

I wish I had put something like that in my letters. Do you mind if i use that line in my own letters?

Best wishes

And there lies the problem. From what I have seen, it seems that the majority of celebrities only send out PP's TTM.
I am keeping my fingers crossed though. With two replies that I have had, one is PP, the other authentic. If I can keep them odds up, I will be more than happy.

Best wishes

I actually got 3 PP's when I wrote to Emma Watson. They sent me one of her, one of Daniel Radcliffe, and one with all 3 of them (Rupert, Emma & Daniel). Sent the letter and a SAE on the 16/04/07 and Received 18/04/07

The address I used was

Best wishes
