Baha Men - Who Let The Dogs Out

Unread post by basketballlkf »

This is my favorite story during my autograph collecting career. I'm a big fan of the Baha Men, the group that had the hit "Who Let The Dogs Out" and some other movie hits a few years ago. I heard they were performing at Hollywood Park on June 2, 2006, so I sent them a request, a SASE, and two photos. I couple days later, a Friday, I got a call from an employee at HP asking if I had sent a letter to the Baha Men. She explained that she had recieved the letter, really liked it, and wanted to do something special for me. Since I live close to HP, she gave me 3 free tickets to the concert. A friend and I went, and it was AMAZING! We had free reservations at the trackside restaurant, where we met the employee. She gave me a bag with some free promo gifts from HP. Later, we got a personal, and crazy, tour guide who gave us a private tour of Hollywood Park. We got to meet the jockeys, stand at the starting gate, where noone gets to stand, and some other places. On our way back to the restaurant, our guide ran into the bodyguard for the Baha Men. He led us through a door, and there were all the Baha Men, sitting around and hanging out before the show. I spent about 10-15 minutes with them, chatting, shaking hands, taking photos, and getting autographs. I got them to sign my VIP pass, a pair of jockey goggles my guide gave me (1 of 2 pairs around), and their album cover. They are extremely gracious towards their fans. Afterwards, I watched their amazing concert and was right up against the stage. During the show, they gave me a few nods and winks, and their bodyguard chatted with me. After the show, I went to the VIP tent and told them how amazing the show was and asked when their next album was coming out. It was truly a great experience.
