question about mailing celebrities
i really hope u guys can help me out. my question is do you need to send a photo u want signed along with everything else? Because, it says that you should include a photo, but in reading many of the forums, it seems like most of you just send the SASE, and the celeb sends u a photo. any help is great because im new to this autograph collecting thing. thanks a lot
personaly i always send a picture with my request especially when writing Via Venue. But sometimes the celeb won't sign the picture but will send another one. That's why never send anything you don't wanna lose. The pictures i send are usually of the celebrity in one of his or her movie.
Hope this help.
Remember that sending a SASE does increase your chances of the celeb writing you back. But some celebs will pay for postage

I almost never send a photo (I have only sent about 3 with photos in total). Celebs pretty well always have their own photos, and generally you get a quicker response if you let them supply the picture.
This is because fan mail is usually handled by agents, and they more often than not have a stock of pictures already signed by the celeb. They then only have to mail them out.
If you supply your own photo, then the agent has to wait until the celeb comes into the agency, or forward the photo onto their home for it to be signed.
So it really depends on how long you are prepared to wait, and how much you want a particular picture signed!
The same applies if you want the photo dedicated to you. This in general will involve a longer wait!
Hope this helps!
