How far would you go?

Unread post by nomoredramamama75 »

I've read the sticky on type verses handprint, plus the responses to the other post on the topic. I'm still debating. Please help.

I'm never content with my first (or second) draft of anything. I'm always second guessing my spelling. For those reasons, I use the computer to get everything in order.

Would you suggest that I go the extra mile and handprint the letter after I'm satisfied with the wording of the fan letter that I have in the computer?

It might be important to note that my handwritting is elaborate and big. When I do handprint the letter after getting it organized on the computer, one page of text on the computer equals three pages handwritten on unlined paper. The added length, I'm afraid, might be a turnoff to our busy celebrities.

Hi nomoredramamama75 :D

It's really a matter of preference as to handwriting / typing your letters.

If your requests are going to be three pages long when handwritten, you might as well send a typed fan mail request. Three pages is probably going to be a bit long in terms of a fan mail letter.

As you know, not everyone's handwriting is neat so handwriting a request isn't for everyone. Celebrities will not mind whichever way a fan letter is presented.

If you think it's more prettier on computer, I'd also suggest you type it :)

As a kid, I would prefer typing because not even my teacher can read my handwriting

It really is up to you but since your handwriting takes up 3 pages & most celebrities are quite busy.. they might not take the time to read the entire letter, so if I were you.. I would probably type it. Good luck with your requests :D

It also depends on what you are collecting for. If you are collecting for charity then in my opinion typing it out on the computer would be the best option, but if you are collecting personally (for yourself or someone else, not for charity) then it depends which you would prefer to do.
