new postage?

Unread post by son of thunder »

Has anyone noticed any changes with getting s.a.s.e.'s back since the postage change? I got three back yesterday- out of the three , two were o.k. but one needed 37 cents extra postage. I went into the post office to get some help but they seemed unsure themselves. Said not to put "do not bend" and said depending on size of s.a.s.e. 9x12 or 10x13 price could be .97 to 1.30 depending on how they feel, if concidered large envelope or package rate. I've always used .63 and had terrific success. What are the rest of you going to use for return postage on a 9x12 s.a.s.e. with picture only in envelope?

I've actually used .80 Cents since that postage change, and gotten two successes back with no problem.

I've been using 0.97 because that is the equivalent of what 0.63 used to be before the increase. You can use 0.80 if the envelope and picture together weigh less than an ounce.

If you're using a 9x12 envelope and the envelope and contents weigh less than 2 ounces .80 cents works. I went to the post office and asked them. I don't know beyond that.

This should help (look at first class mail retail flats): http://pe.usps.gov/text/dmm300/ratesand ... #wp1008795

If the 9X12 envelope and its contents weighs one ounce or less, then you put on 0.80
If the 9X12 envelope and its contents weighs over one ounce but no more than 2 ounces, then you put on 0.97

Hope this clears things up for you.
