Kissing Sailor George Mendonsa Success!

George Mendonsa served as a sailor in the United States Navy. On August 14, 1945 a photo of him kissing a nurse in Times Square after the announcement of the Japanese surrender was taken by Life photographer Alfred Eisenstadt. The photo has become one of the most iconic pictures ever taken. While many people have claimed to be the sailor in the photo, Mendonsa is the most likely based on photographic analysis.

He signed the photo I sent him and returned it signed in my SASE in 23 days.
