Spreading the Joy of Collecting!
Has anyone ever been influenced by your hobby of collecting autographs therefore, making you responsible for their new found hobby?

Re: Spreading the Joy of Collecting!
Yes, I got one of my best friends involved. He only does sports, though, as I used to do. And he, in-turn, got two of our mutual friends interested.
I'm not doing sports right now, though. I became too complacent in it, and I found I wasn't excited about the mail unless I got 8 or 9 SASE's a day. With sports, for me, it became more about quantity than quality, and I was just writing guys because I had cards and could afford the stamps.
Then I found this site and it's gotten me excited about it again. I haven't sent any sports since February and sometimes I only get 1 autograph a day from who I'm writing now, but I'm very excited about it, whomever it may be, because I'm only writing to my favorite musicians (You would think I would run out eventually, but I love music so much that I can't) and actors/actresses. Even if it's a guy no one here has ever heard of, it's still making me happy as can be. That's really what it's about.
(Sorry to ramble, I tore my back up on Sunday and the medicine I'm on makes me quite talkative
)
I was just talking to him yesterday and he said he wasn't really going to send out much until football season starts (which, I'm not doing any more sports until then, either) and I had him pumped up and ready to write letters by the time we got off the phone ten minutes later. That's really what we need is someone with us interested in what we're doing (which we have here) and the camaraderie between collectors (we definitely have that here!)
