I have read the sticky regarding tips on sending a photo and SASE.
It reads that sending a photo will not increase or decrease the chance of getting a (as in any) response.
My question is: will sending a photo of your own to be autographed increase the chance of getting a personalized response?
By personalized I mean "To Lisa Mae" instead of an autograph only.
send ur own photo, get personal

So far, I've been sending a blank index card to be signed if a stock photograph is unavailable.

It's possible, but not guaranteed.nomoredramamama75 wrote:My question is: will sending a photo of your own to be autographed increase the chance of getting a personalized response?
Some celebrities will personalise responses on all their photos they sign (to stop people from selling them). Others may just autograph them (possbly due to lack of time). This is regardless of whether you send a photo or not.
I will suggest that in your letter you ask for a personalised and autographed photo regardless of whether you send a photo or not. If you are sending a photo to be signed, you might want to put a post-it note on the photos asking them to be personalised to NAME, as then when the celebrity signs they will see the note and (hopefully) personalise the photo for you when they sign.
Good luck!

Clearly, I'm still tweaking my process for fan mail/ autograph requests.
Manu80,
Regarding the sending of an index card, it's just a tip that I've read on a "how to" site;
the author of the article claimed that Bill Cosby sent him/her one,
and that Cobsy allegedly suggested that an index card be sent in case a stock photo is unavailable.
The logic being, at least you'd get something back.
Now, I don't vouch for the wisdom in it.
It's just something I've tried.
Now and Again,
Excellant strategy!
I will definitely try that.
Thank you so very much. {thumb2}
