After this year's blue wave of Dodger acquisitions, I believe it is time for Team Salary Caps! Small-market teams don't have a chance against large-market teams and it's ruining baseball!
The Dodgers routinely are among the highest payrolls (if not the highest) in MLB and, except for the Covid 60-game season, haven't won a World Series since 1988. Let them spend their money, it isn't doing them any good.
In fact, the highest 2023 MLB payrolls were as follows:
1. New York Mets (did not make playoffs)
2. New York Yankees (did not make playoffs)
3. San Diego Padres (did not make playoffs)
4. Philadelphia Phillies (lost in playoffs)
5. Los Angeles Dodgers (lost in playoffs)
6. Los Angeles Angels (did not make playoffs)
7. Toronto Blue Jays (lost in playoffs)
8. Atlanta Braves (lost in playoffs)
9. Texas Rangers (won World Series)
10. Houston Astros (lost in playoffs)
11. San Francisco Giants (did not make playoffs)
This doesn't mean that Rob Manfred isn't a baseball-hating idiot (he is) but it does mean that a World Series cannot be bought.
