Typed letter...?

Unread post by automusicgraph »

I typed instead of wrote my letter by hand... but on this thread it says to always handwrite letters! Would it really make a difference?

I have always typed my letters too, as I am collecting for charity. I do not think that it will make much difference as long as you make sure that your letter does not sound like a form letter (a letter sent to several celevrities with no changes). Add something in aoutc their latest film or concert or CD etc to make it ore personal to that celebrity :)

I always type my letter also, then hand sign and type my name at the bottom.

I use to think that writing them was better. But when i went through a stage of being really busy i decided to type a few so atleast i was sending some off (as i can type about 50 times quicker !) and i got just as good success rate with those as i do with handwritten letters. Although i also did sign them myself.

In my experience handwritten letters have a much higher success rate than typed letters.

Also typed letters can come across as "mass produced" so some celebs ignore them....

I've never sent handwritten ones so I don't know about success rates, but you are right, you do have to be very careful not to send what sounds like a mass produced letter.

I usually hand write them, but recently I have typed letters and hand signed them because they are like 2 pages long and well...having so much written paper with my slightly large handwriting does get quite bulky in a mail.

In my opinion, hand writing a letter is considered a fan letter in a way, but you can type letters too if you tend to have stuff like "Hiiiii! Its so nice to be writing to you. YOU are AMAZING!!!" - You get my drift

Hand signing the bottom is some what good, but keep in mind, if you make a formal letter and then handsign, it sounds and looks like a business deal >.<

I always handwrite, but as a lot of the time a secratary discards your letter and just bungs a pre signed autograph in your sase, I don't think it matters that much! - Man this hobby has made me bitter :)
