Stamp Help?

Unread post by Taxi_06 »

I live in the US, but I don't know how much it costs to send a letter to the UK. I'm sending something to John Cleese, and am using the UK address. How many stamps should I use? Would 3 be ok?

What size envelope are you using? For an envelope smaller than 9X12 in. that weighs less than an ounce it costs 90 cents.

I believe it is a 9x12. It is a pretty light weight one, but I am sending 2 photos, a SAE and a small piece of cardboard. Do you know how much that would be? I have 4 stamps left, but I'm not sure how many to use.

I used this: http://ircalc.usps.gov/
Since you are including all that stuff in your envelope, I said it weighs 2 ounces.
It says that it will cost $1.80, which is more than 4 stamps :?

What if I left out something like the cardboard? Would that change it any?

Probably not because you are still including two pictures and an SAE. You can try though.
If the envelope and its contents are an ounce or less than it only costs $1.07.
