Bobby Charlton

Unread post by automan »

I am thinking of sending a vintage man utd shirt for bobby to sign. I have had a look at
Previous successes from him and all of them are signed in biro. If he were to try and
Sign it with a biro it wouldn't work well. Do you think I should include a permanent marker with my request?
Man * is not a term United fans refer to themselves as. The term is only used by other supporters as a complete and utter insult to our club. The "u" is meant to be "you" by the rival fans.

An early example was from WBA fans: "Duncan Edwards is manure, rotting in his grave, man you are manure- rotting in your grave". The origin of "Man Utd" is a song to insult the dead Duncan Edwards.

Liverpool and Leeds fans copied this with their own man you /u versions to insult all of the lads who died at munich.

"Man * Man * went on a plane Man * Man * never came back again"

and..

"Man * Never Intended Coming Home" (if you combine the first letter of each word you get the word "munich").

So... Please REFRAIN from using this term ever again!!!!!!!!

I'm sure he'll have a marker.

Question for Andy & others: How high do you rate my chances of getting a Man U shirt signed IP at Bobby's book signing?

i would take it with you and ask if you could get it signed, or he might just be signing his book and nothing else

You may as well take it with you and try. If he sees you've bought a book and hes in a good mood he might do.

I think I'll wear it and ask him to sign it whilst it is on me.. that way its looks better (and less obvious to the security guards)

Thanks for the replies!! {thumb2}
