Envelope or Box?

Unread post by MW1221 »

I'm sending a copy of Apollo 13 (formerly Lost Moon) to Captain Lovell. Should I use an envelope or a box?

Personally I'd use a bubblewrap lined envelope. Better protection in my opinion.

I really don't intend to dampen your spirits but, Capt. Lovell does not sign through the mail at all. He won't even sign his book anymore. (He ceased in 2002-2003.) But, if you still want to try, I would recommend sending it to his restaurant address.

Good Luck!

P.S. Capt. Lovell's autograph is on my most wanted list. ;-)

Thank you both. And Cernan I got this email from Captain Lovell yesterday.
Dear Mike:

Thank you for your note. I still hear from people all over the world about the influence the space program had on their lives. It is wonderful to hear these very inspiring stories. It was a wonderful time filled with adventure and exploration for all.

I will sign your copy of Lost Moon/Apollo 13. Send it to the address listed below with a self addressed stamped envelope for its return.

Thank you again for your kind note – and keep dreaming.

Captain Lovell
For the sake of Mr. Lovell's privacy, I won't give the address he said to send it to or the email that I used. If you care, you will find it.

WOW!!! I can't wait to see your success! I have a feeling that you contacted him through the restaurant website email form. I tried it about 3 times with no response. You're super lucky!!! I'm jealous lol!
