sending photo?
im new to autograph collecting and i was wondering how to successfully receive an autograph. if you dont provide a photo will they, or would you have to provide one in order to get the autograph. and if you did include a photo would you put it in the envelope you are sending them or would you put it in the SASE. thanks.
Re: sending photo?
I would atleast send something for them to sign. May it be index cards, photos or magazine clippings. Something to sign gives them interest. I make an effort to ATLEAST send a 4x6 photo to the successes. That way the celebrity doesn't have to find something to send you (or end up putting a PP or something). It shows that you are a fan and have taken the trouble to request an autograph.
You should put the photo in the envelope you are sending, not the SASE. However, as Manu said above me, send an SASE as much as you can. Its always good.

Re: sending photo?
you dont have to send a photo, the only time I send one is when Im sending via venue or if the person is known to send PPs if you dont provide one. but most will provide a pic if you ask nicely

To answer your questions:
The only time I would suggest that you must send a photo or other item to sign is when you're sending via venue - e.g. to a theatre where the celebrity is performing at or a movie set, as they may not have anything to send out in that instance.
Good luck!

Sending a photo is optional, but in any case I would recommend sending a SASE either way.saosinforever95 wrote:im new to autograph collecting and i was wondering how to successfully receive an autograph. if you dont provide a photo will they, or would you have to provide one in order to get the autograph.

You should not put your photo in the SASE, as the celebrity may not see the photo you have enclosed. Just put it in the envelope addressed to the celebrity with your SASE and letter.saosinforever95 wrote:and if you did include a photo would you put it in the envelope you are sending them or would you put it in the SASE. thanks.
