I am afraid to start Charity Collecting
Hi,
I am afraid to start charity collecting because I hate getting 'oh that's so sweet' remarks from my parents.
As you can probably tell by my user name, I am fairly young so even though I am able to do stuff my parents helps me with the additional details and so on with collecting.
She always reads my letters, so how can I prevent getting the 'oh thats so sweet' remarks, and also how can I collect the charity's official paper.
Thanks

Re: i am afraid 2 start charity colecting
perhaps this is just my opinion, but i don't really see anything wrong with it. They will do it in the beginning a bit before your charity is working big. Its great to get parents help and as your charity gets bigger, you can get stuff done yourself too.miley cyrus fan wrote:i am afraid to start charity collecting because i hate getting oh thats so sweet remarks from parents as you can obviously tell by my user name i am fairly young so even thou i am able to do stuff my mom helps me with the aditonal details and so on with collecting and she always reads my letters so how can i prevent gettin the ah thats so sweet from being nice and also how can i collect the charitys official paper.
But perhaps this will be better: usually charity letters are not like fanmail. They are more buisness like showing your seriousness towards your charity. Its not exactly "sweet" but can be sentimental or so. It can be directed at a management or the celebrity itself (usually the celebrity).
Other than that, i am not sure i can help in a personal matter. Personally I don't see the problem here. But well...thats me

Hi There is nothing wrong with having your parents reading over your letters. I would be grateful to have some help with things when it comes to collecting
Re/ charity paper- contact your local branch of the charity, tell them what you are doing, and ask for some letterheaded paper for you to use. If they don't have any then don't fret- you dont need to have charity headed paper for requests- I don't.
Don't be scared- although it can be stressful and it takes alot of patience, there will be alot of reward at the end when it all pays off.
Hope this has helped, and if you need any more help, then feel free to ask here or to PM / Email me.

I wouldn't worry about getting the "Oh, that's so sweet" remarksmiley cyrus fan wrote:i am afraid to start charity collecting because i hate getting oh thats so sweet remarks from parents as you can obviously tell by my user name i am fairly young so even thou i am able to do stuff my mom helps me with the aditonal details and so on with collecting and she always reads my letters so how can i prevent gettin the ah thats so sweet from being nice and also how can i collect the charitys official paper.

And about getting the charities official paper, I just wrote to the charity that I am collecting for and told them what I wa doing, and asked if they would be able to supply me with an opfficial letter of confirmation from them to send to the celebrities, to prove that I am genuinely collecting for charity. Most charities will be more than happy to help you!

Re: i am afraid 2 start charity colecting
ok i sent to robin williams for me and a charity yesterday, the thing that slows me down is because i cant get the official paper i tend not to send because people may think i am severly mooching, i sent to robin because hes a good signer, ya i know their secratirials speculation but i dont care they look very real to me
Re: i am afraid 2 start charity colecting
You should wait untill you get headed paper or a letter on confirmation, as that will prove that you are not mooching. Some celebrities may reply without one, but it is more professional to send out headed paper/a confirmation letter from your charity ;)
