Where:Toronto International Film Festival: Jane Austin Book Club
Hello again!!
Out of all the premieres i went to this year at the TIFF this one was the highlight for me. Myself and Larisie went yet again to another premiere following Easter Promises. Larisie arrived there before i did and saved spots since i had some outstanding things to do before i came. When i did arrive we waiting for the 6:30 premiere of Elizabeth with Cate Blanchett and Clive Owen (I will post in a different thread with the successes i got from that premiere).
We waited until the 9:30 premiere for Jane Austin Book Club. We had REALLY good spots by the barrier infront of the red carpet. Unfortunately since most of the press were somewhere else, they decided to make the red carpet shorter and moved it away from us. Myself and Larisie were gutted since we thought there was no way the stars would come to where we were since it was a bit away from the red carpet. Fortunately the security people there opened up a fan pit RIGHT at the red carpet and were randomly selecting 20 people to go there. Our friends who were with us called for the security guy and told him that Larisie and i had been waiting there since 11 in the morning to see Hugh Dancy. Security took us both then to the fan pit.
We waited until about 8:45pm and the first few cars arrived. Hugh was second to come. He was really shocked at how many people new him in toronto. He was SUCH a sweet man, He came right over to the fan pit and started to sign and take pictures with his fans. He came over to me and i asked him if i could have a picture with him, He replied "Sure, of course!" and smiled, he then signed Larisie's picture and came back over to me and took a picture with me. He then went to the other side of the street and signed for EVERYONE and posed for MANY pictures!! On his way back over he came to take more pictures and took one with Larisie. He then looked at the picture he had signed for me and went "Who is that devilishly handsome man!" We both started to laugh and he waved and went back onto the red carpet.
We also got to talk to Maggie Grace who was there. The poor girl was freezing and told us if she had known toronto was so cold at night she would have brought a shawl. LOL
