Do New Zealand stamps work for Australia?

If I was to send a request to australia and put new zealand stamps on the s.a.s.e would they work?

No. You need stamps from the country it is mailed from, in this case Australia.

You could try sending just a SAE (no stamps) and including an IRC with your request.
