went to the down show tonight. they were sticklers at the door about being searched, and not bringing in anything resembling a weapon. i go to this venue all the time and have never had a problem before tonight. They made me bring my drumstick i had brought back to the car, despite my pleas. I was soo bumbed. Anyways, i went into the concert and when it was over, got a set list... there was no re entry during the show, but after, i walked out to my car, and grabbed my drum stick and had no problem getting it in. waited at the bar and shortly after, kirk came out and posed for a couple pictures with some people and i had him sign my set list (guitar player) he also signed my t shirt with like a billion metal people on it. i asked him and he saw my set list which was kinda crinkled from being in my pocket and he was like, "jeez it's in real good shape, huh?" then he quick signed my shirt and like stuck his nose up and took off... a few minutes later, Pepper, the other guitar player came out and he signed for a guy in a wheel chair, and he looked at me, then kinda ignored me, he signed for a couple other people, sat around and talked, i waited til he finished talking as not to be rude, and he turned around and headed towards the bus, ignoring me calling his name like 3 times. i don't know what i did to him, but he definately blew me off... after like 45 minutes i was starting to get discouraged. Finally Phil came out and talked with a couple people, signed for the dude in the wheel chair and was all, i gotta go back and (smoke) basically... but he was like, actually, before i go, anyone want me to sign anything? and I was like yeah it's a total honor, i've been trying to get you forever, you're like one of my idols and he talked a second and i handed him my drum stick which i had signed before by dimebag, vinny paul, the rest of damageplan and jason bitner and brian fair from shadows fall. I told him i had vinny and dime on there and thanked him and he was like.. "vinny, who's vinny?" lol all sarcastic like. so i was like, "yeah, you're right" lol joking around and then i go, can you get my shirt, too? He goes, sure. someone else kinda interupted him and he goes, hang on, lemme get this for my bro here seeings how i was just busting on him, and signed my shirt. we talked for a second more and then he signed for the small group of us there still and appologized and went out back to do his thing. it was eye opening to actually realize how old he is now, when he mentioned how a lot of kids these days can copy his "metal voice" but not many can do the whole singing thing too, like he does now. that got me thinking, jeez the singer from pantera's gotta be like 40 now, i remember listening to him when i was little, i must be getting OLD, lol. but anyways, phil was the nicest, rex didn't come out, which was disappointing, because now i have everyone from pantera on my drum stick except him. i have no idea how i'm gonna get him minus waiting til they come around again in a couple years and hoping i catch him.

i didn't bring a camera to the show, but i can take pictures of the autographs if anyone wants to see, let me know!

i was reading in your Garth Brooks post and saw you went to Down, and got one of your favorite metal singer's autographs, and couldn't get to the 'In-person' board fast enough...

I had heard Pepper was a jerk pretty much this whole tour, really, but he signs c/o that bar he owns in New Orleans, I think you got him didn't you?

I now have everyone on the band but Jimmy Bower... and Rex signs VV, too, got him last week, so give that a shot.
Man, was their set not perfect??? They were flawless when I saw them in Cincinnati!

yeah, but i wanna get rex on the drum stick... there's no WAY i'm sending that drum stick VV. i didn't send pepper anything yet, maybe i'll send him the set list... that'd be cool. yeah, jimmy didn't come out, i wanted to have him sign my drumhead. every one of em seemed to have a stick up their butt besides phil. he was saying how much he loved crowds like that in the club scene, and missed playing those shows. must be you got phils when you saw them the other night too? haha, cool. i'll take some pictures either tonight or tomorrow when i get home from work.

Awesome success!! Even though I didn't get to meet Pepper, I did get a pick from the show as well as the set list. I was wondering if you could take a pic of it, I just wanted to see what they were playing at your show. I know they have been varying the set from show to show. I will snap a pic of mine and post it.

At the show I went to, there were cameras everywhere so maybe that changed. I did get a clip on my phone of Pepper shredding!

I just saw Hellyeah last night and they didn't allow cameras but I did get to meet Vinnie (FINALLY!).
