'Cars' die casts

Unread post by elmomommyto2 »

Does anyone else here collect the movie 'Cars' die casts? Up to today, we've collected all but 5 for my son :D. Most of which we found at either Wal-Mart or Toys R Us. The only ones that we don't have are:

Dale Earnhardt Jr. #8
Barney Stormin' Bi-Plane
Kori Turbowitz
The Official Pace Car
Bruiser Bukowski

The last 4 are supposedly Wal-Mart exclusives that I have somehow missed, but there should be more shipments (thank goodness!).

Please feel free to post any tips on collecting these, discussion or questions regarding the die casts :)

Why is this a stupid question? If you posted a question, you wouldn't want people telling you it's a stupid question. Leave your rude, unneeded comments to yourself.

 Ok, now you two sound like my husband and myself after checking a ton of stores, only to come home empty-handed ! I have seen many on e-bay...and like many other collectors of the Cars die casts, I refuse to pay out the nose for them. It's ridiculous when practically every car that my son still needs goes for upwards of $10 or much, much more (they retail for $3-$8 tops) in some cases! A lot of the fun comes from the thrill of the hunt for me I suppose ;). I was simply wondering if anyone else here collected them and if so, if they'd be interested in sharing info {thumb2}.

Well my cousin has all of them and I'm sure the way my aunt got them for him is illegal, but anyway. The Wal*Mart in my city got in whole new toy shipments (and I'm not sure if you know this or not) but they throw out all the toys that are on the shelve that have been there for a while. Anyway later that night we went to Wal*Mart, saw them dumping stuff in their dumpsters, so we checked and found tons of stuff, including the Cars toys, so now he has them. She kind of felt bad for some reason, so she went into the store and left $50 with a cashier. But that's the story of how he has them all. And some of them that were in the dumpster weren't even on the shelf in the store because we checked everywhere the week prior.

Anything thrown in the trash is fair game so it wasn't illegal. Geez, I may take up dumpster diving at my local Wal Mart.

well, they could get you for trespassing but most places just run people off if they catch them. the Wal-Marts around here have the compacters, not dumpsters..... dont get in a compacter
