Hello. I recently got back into the hobby of autograph collecting. Because I always seem to be short on money, I only send an SAE (An 8.5x11 envelope within a bigger envelope). When I last collected, I sent out 77 requests, and received 36 of them back. I never did send an SASE, but think I might start. One of my questions is, is it safe too fold up the SASE and put it into a normal sized envelope? Then include it with the letter, folded into three?
And also, who are some good celebs that will settle for an SAE?

I always fold my SASE and I have received 3 back all received in my SASE so it's totally safe. May I ask who the 36 people you received replies back were?

You can fold your SASE into a business envelope. A list of names will result in the celebrities getting taken advantage of, so it will not be posted.

I fold mine into 3rds to fit into a legal sized envelope.
For the list of people, you will just have to search the feedbacks to see if you need to send one or not. List of people will probably not be posted. Sorry

Hi there! I only ever send s.a.e's too
far more economical, and besides, I buy the celeb's cds/dvds, so they can afford to pay postage for a fan!! I fold my s.a.e's up three times as well into the normal envelope, no problem! Some celebs I know of who don't mind fans being cheapskates are the British royals (don't expect a signed photo though), Will Young, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jonny Wilkinson, alot of the English football clubs, Coldplay, and...well yeah sorry I'm only into British celebs so I can't comment fully! I see nothing wrong with sharing this info as you can't really take advantage of someone who has millions more in their bank than you do ;)

AUTHENTIC, OR NOTHING AT ALL.

I did not send all those letters at the same time. It was over a period of about four months. It was in the summer of 2004 that I sent all the letters away. I sent my last one in September 2004, and just sent away five more for the first time since then. It's so exciting waiting for the response!
And no they weren't football players. Just celebrities that I am a fan of.
I will start sending SAE's in legal sized envelopes. It will save some money.

Hi!
What a coincidence... I'm also restarting my collection. And I also just send SAEs because I live in Brazil so I can't get Us or UK stamps, and IRCs are really expensive. =(
I know it reduces my chances to get the autograph, but I still try anyway.
Fingers crossed for the 9 letters I sent out last week!
