Your own photo.

Unread post by AMCP »

Sometimes here and there I run across someone sending a photo of themselves to their favorite celebrity.

I have never done this though I was wondering if a lot of people do this?

If you do, why?

If you don't, why?

Well I do send my own photo if:
I'm sending VV
I have a really nice picture or just a picture of them I want signed
I'm sending a CD booklet or a DVD sleeve
I know that they don't send out photos

I don't send my own photo if:
I don't have any photos of that celeb
I know that the celeb sends photos.

*oops* :) just editing, I see your question is actually about sending a photo of OURSELVES to the celeb. I've only done that once, to Pete Doherty actually, because I know he reads his mail himself and I'd just like to give him a face to the name of an obsessed fan. He's a big icon of mine and I wanted to make the letter more personal. I also looked really good in that pic!

But other than that, I don't do it because I know most celebs don't even read the mail themselves! It would also cost a fortune if I had to print out a photo of me everytime I send a request.
AUTHENTIC, OR NOTHING AT ALL.

Hi! ;)

So far I've only sent a photo of myself to Josh Duhamel and I've already wrote a 'thank you' letter to Charlie Cox with a pic of myself, just need to post it! :D I send a photo of myself sometimes because then I know they know that I'm a real fan, not just an "autograph collector"! I also feel the letter is more interesting and personal, 'cause the celebrities would want to know what their fans look like! :P Also, I got a great personal response from Duhamel, and I think the photo of myself boosted such a nice response! ;)

Thanks,
Lizanne

I have thought about doing that as well, but it will only increase the cost of each mail I send out if I start including pictures of myself, not to mention I don't have any "good" pictures ready for mailing, haha. However, for some of my favorite celebrities I might send a picture of myself if I get a nice response from them {??} . I would include my picture in a follow-up thank you letter or perhaps if I were sending them a birthday card.

EDIT: Actually, if I were to send them back something in a follow-up, I thought about taking a picture of myself holding their autographed picture along with a big smile to show how happy it made me :D
There's nothing like seeing your own handwriting on a letter addressed to yourself in your mailbox :D

I actually never thought about it because I don't see the sense behind it. *gg* It's not like I want to get him/her to marry me and have to advertise myself. *gg* But that is just my point. :D
