So I have several questions. And lemme say in advance that I know the last one is in the wrong place, but I figured while I was asking questions, I might as well ask that one here, too.
Okay, number one.
If I were to send a 9"x12" envelope with folded 9"x12" SASE, and a low-grade sheet of paper, would I need extra postage? What about a legal sized envelope with a folded 9"x12" SASE and a low-grade sheet of paper inside? Would you suggest sending cardboard for/with the SASE? Would you guys think it's a bad idea to send a TV guide to be signed, if you want the cover signed? Do you think it's worth the extra postage to have to get the same sized envelope as your SASE and the extra weight of the cardboard to send it? For that matter, in having to fold and crease the SASE, if you don't send cardboard, won't the picture invariable get creased due to the folds in SASE? And, last but not least, if you want to get the signatures of someone who was on The Amazing Race (or, for the sake of argument, any other long-term game show similar, like Survivor) but they are now off the show (like they were on a couple of seasons ago) can you still get an autograph from the address you would while they were still on air?
Thank you for your time in advance!

You should use $0.80 stamps on both 9x12in envelopes if under one ounce. (Should be under 1 ounce)Cayenne-the-fangirl wrote:If I were to send a 9"x12" envelope with folded 9"x12" SASE, and a low-grade sheet of paper, would I need extra postage?
You can use this option too, it will only take one $0.80 stamp and one $0.41 stamp.Cayenne-the-fangirl wrote:What about a legal sized envelope with a folded 9"x12" SASE and a low-grade sheet of paper inside?
I don't send cardboard with mine when I send a photo, and I think the TV guide is great! Usually my mail (wo)man doesn't fold it so I don't need to worry about it!Cayenne-the-fangirl wrote:Would you suggest sending cardboard for/with the SASE? You would most likely have to use a diffrent address, unless they are preprinted photos.Cayenne-the-fangirl wrote:And, last but not least, if you want to get the signatures of someone who was on The Amazing Race (or, for the sake of argument, any other long-term game show similar, like Survivor) but they are now off the show (like they were on a couple of seasons ago) can you still get an autograph from the address you would while they were still on air?

Since you didn't say where you are from I'm giving you postage costs as if you live in the US sending to another address in the US
~a 9X12 inside a 9X12 with a piece of paper will cost 0.80.
~a legal sized envelope with a 9X12 inside will cost the normal 0.41
~ I would just send the cover of the TV guide, not the whole thing, but remember, when sending something, you have to be willing to lose it because it might not come back.
Hope this helps!

Thanks a million for your thoughts, you guys!
And yup, I feel silly for not mentioning it, but this is from inside the US to inside the US. =D
Hmm, we've get our mail in post office boxes, and they're relatively small, although there are boxes with numbers that they put the key to inside your personal PO box if there's something that won't fit inside your box... Although in the past, they've just shoved manilla folders inside... Hmmm. Maybe I'll just see how it goes, write 'do not bend' all over then and pray they'll put it into a box for me. Or I could ask them to put that mail specifically into the boxes? Although I doubt they could keep track of it... Hmm, we'll see how it goes.
Wow, sorry. I just started talking to myself.
And that's an idea, sending just the cover... Cheaper, for sure.
Thanks again for your help!

Oh, okay, thanks. That's really good to know... I guess we'll just have to find them individually?

Re: Several Questions; Postage, What to Send, The Amazing Race
Hey, guys.
So, I'm a big procrastinator, but I finally went down to my dad's shop and weighed my mail - and it's 1.4 ounces. I'm really not sure HOW this happened, considering that all it is a 9x12 inside a 9x12 with a pieces of paper, but there you go.
So I've got another question. Well, two, actually.
How much would that cost, (9x12, 1.4 ounces)? And how much more weight can you add until you have to bump the cost up again, if you know what I mean? Because, for instance, if it doesn't cost even more until you hit two ounces, I might as well add some cardboard, because it still won't weigh over two ounces, and I won't risk getting my photo bent.
Thanks so much for your time and expertise, you guys!

Sending a 9x12 that weighs 1.4 ounces will be 0.97. That will cover up to two ounces so sending cardboard should be fine as long as it doesn't weigh much.Cayenne-the-fangirl wrote: How much would that cost, (9x12, 1.4 ounces)?
